dc.description.abstract Shihwa lake is an artificial lake created by the entrapment of Yellow Sea water the constraction of a 17.2km long dike offshore of Gyeonggi province, Korea. Shihwa Lake, a saline and eutrophic artificial lake, receives enormous amounts of organic matters from neighboring municipal and industrial complexes through several streams. This study aims to investigate the distribution of dissolved organic matter in the Shihwa lake by fluorescence analysis, as well as the identification of major sources of organic matter to complex artificial lake. -
