Marine Environment Research Department
해양환경연구부The Marine Environmental Research Department investigates the marine environmental changes caused by natural and anthropogenic factors and evaluates their impacts on the marine environment for its effective management and preservation and also carries out the research on the global biogeochemical cycles. Its research topics include marine radioactivity, management of ocean waste disposal, environmental improvement of Sihwa Lake, environmental management of fish farms, remediation of contaminated sediments, and the biogeochemical cycles in the Indian Ocean and the East Sea.
해양환경연구부는 자연적, 인위적 요인에 의한 해양환경 변화를 감시·평가하여 해양환경을 관리·보전하고 있으며, 전 지구 물질순환 변화를 연구하고 있다. 해양방사능, 해양배출 폐기물 관리, 시화호 환경개선, 양식장 환경관리, 해양오염퇴적물 정화, 동해 및 인도양 물질순환 연구를 수행하고 있다.
