Marine Environmental Research Center해양환경연구센터

The Marine Environmental Research Center investigates the marine environmental changes caused by natural and anthropogenic factors and evaluates their impacts on the marine environment to effectively manage and preserve it and also carries out studies on global biogeochemical cycles. Its research topics include environmental management of fish farms, environmental improvement of Sihwa Lake, marine radioactivity, management of ocean waste disposal, remediation of contaminated sediments, and biogeochemical cycles in the Indian Ocean and the East Sea.

해양환경연구센터는 자연적, 인위적 요인에 의한 해양환경 변화를 감시·평가하여 해양환경을 관리보·전하고 있으며, 전 지구 물질순환 변화를 연구하고 있다. 양식장 환경관리, 시화호 환경개선, 해양방사능, 해양배출 폐기물 관리, 해양오염퇴적물 정화, 동해 및 인도양 물질순환 연구를 수행하고 있다.
