해양바이오 분야 기업 R&D 수요와 대학ㆍ연구소의 R&D 공급 간 차이 분석

Abstract

This study seeks to analyse difference between supply by universities & research institutions (as R&D suppliers) and demand of R&D by enterprises (as R&D demanders) in the field of marine bio. For empirical analysis, the authors of this study surveyed working-level persons in enterprises and researchers working in the area of marine bio and analyzed the difference between supply and demand of R&D. The results of this study show that there is a high demand of bio companies for getting involvement in marine bio area and the bio companies want to develop a variety of new technologies in the fields of mass production of industrial materials and validation evaluation as well as basic science to get involvement in marine bio area. This study also found that support of universities and research institutions for R&D have been concentrated in the fields of basic research and useful material development. It means that there is the imbalance between the demand of R&D by bio companies and the supply for R&D by universities and research institutions. The results of this study imply that government needs to create support mechanisms for the full life-cycle of marine biotechnology R&D to get the balance between the R&D demand by bio companies and the R&D supply by universities and research institutions.
