해양법·정책연구소The Ocean Policy Institute serves as a think-tank for the national ocean policy.It provides fundamental information for establishing national ocean policyby analysing internal and external current ocean issues. Also, it conducts anumber of researches to respond to these issues. These contain maritimejurisdiction protection, marine environment conservation, marine spatialplanning, large-scaled convergence research programs development, andcommercialization strategy of R&D achievements. Finally, the instituteparticipates several bilateral and multilateral meetings such as Korea-Chinamaritime delimitation negotiation and BBNJ Intergovernmental Conference.As a specialized agency, we plays a crucial role regarding the InternationalMaritime Organization and marine spatial planning.
해양정책연구소는 국가 해양정책의 싱크탱크로써, 국내외 해양현안 동향을 조사 및 분석하여 국가의 해양정책 수립을 위한 기초정보를 제공한다. 또한 해양관할권 수호, 해양환경보전, 해양공간계획, 대형 융·복합 연구 프로그램 개발과 연구기획, 해양과학연구개발 성과의 산업화 전략 수립에 관한 연구를 수행한다. 마지막으로, 한중해양경계획정 협상과 BBNJ 정부간회의 등의 해양관련 양자 및 다자 협상에 참여하고, 국제해사기구 및 해양공간계획 전문기관으로써 주요 역할을 수행한다.
