dc.description.abstract The coastal zone is an important boundary for interactions among land/ocean/atmosphere. Extensive industrial activities and rapid population growth are also common characteristics of coastal zone. The main objectives of this project are to quantify the pollutants load by submarine discharges to Chinhae Bay, to construct the comprehensive model of suspended sediment behavior in the southeastern coast of Korea, to understand the adaptation of plankton to environmental changes, to construct a basic energy -flow model in the culture farms, and to establish the water quality (WQ) expert system for the prediction of the coastal environment. -
