Abstract
- Snapping shrimp noise was measured for 30 minutes at 3-hour interval throughout 18 hours from 13 o’clock, August 29 to 7 o’clock, August 30, 2002 at a site of 25 m water depth in the Korean coast of the Yellow Sea. The snapping shrimp noise was easily distinguished from other ambient noise. The peak pressure amplitudes higher than 7 Pa were recorded with a hydrophone. Typical temporal waveforms and frequency spectra of snapping shrimp noise in this study were analyzed. Its diurnal variation of the noise spectra is also investigated.
