As a part of Korea operational operation system (KOOS), we have developed down-scaled operational oceanographic system using the regional ocean modeling system (ROMS) for high-resolution coastal circulation and hydrodynamics in Korea. The regional operational model system with fine grid covers western and southern coastal waters of Korea, which it is nested with Yellow Sea operational model using ROMS for boundary condition. With predicted atmospheric forcing including surface wind stress, net heat flux and water flux obtained by operational atmospheric model WRF, the model predicts tides, wind-driven circulation, temperature and salinity 2 times a day for 72 hours. The predicted results are exported to the web-GIS based coastal information system for the real-time dissemination to the public.
