dc.description.abstract The unstructured 3D baroclinic free-surface model SELFE coupled with the Eulerian multi-fractional sediment transport model is applied for the radioactivity transport studies. Two functionally equivalent models (Eulerian and Lagrangian) are used for the radionuclide transport modelling. Both models describe transport of radionuclide in solute, on suspended sediments, settling and resuspension and diffusion into the bottom sediments. The model performance is compared. Two case studies are considered: (i) dispersion of 137Cs released due to the Fukushima Dai-ichi NPP accident in March-June 2011 and (b) hypothetical releases to the Yellow Sea from Yonggwang NPP are simulated. used for the radionuclide transport modelling.
