Abstract
In this paper, an overview is presented on the current status and developments in the field of ocean remote sensing by synthetic aperture radar (SAR) from spaceborne platforms. Examples are presented on the oceanic phenemena including ocean waves, internal waves, winds and oil slicks, and also ship detection and identification.
