Abstract
- As marine environmental conditions are extremely different from terrestrial ones, marine microorganisms have different characteristics from those of terrestrial counterparts. Therefore, marine microorganisms produce different types of compounds in challenging living conditions. Marine microorganisms represent a promising source for natural products in the future due to the diversity of chemical compounds and bioactivities. As a part of our ongoing search for secondary metabolites, we isolated bioactive secondary metabolites from a marine derived bacterium. The chemical structureswere established by NMR, mass, UV, and IR spectroscopy.
