Introduction of Voyage Environmental Information System (VEIS) for the Northern Sea Rout

Abstract

We introduce the dynamic composite algorithm from AMSR2 Level 2 sea-ice concentration (SIC) data to produce the dynamic daily SIC distribution which is currently moving to pilot production in jpeg and netcdf formats. We also have a short-term prediction system which can produce total 19 parameters related to atmosphere, ocean, wave and sea-ice conditions using the public numerical forecasting models during the period of 7 days. The middle range prediction for 1 month is being studied by a statistical method using short term prediction results and compared with monthly trends of the past 23 years.rm prediction system which can produce total 19 parameters related to atmosphere, ocean, wave and sea-ice conditions using the public numerical forecasting models during the period of 7 days.
