dc.description.abstract | This study used 996 surface sediment samples (on 74 tidal flats) along with morphologic profiles (on 22 tidal flats) taken in the estuarine, open coast, embayment and island tidal flats along the west and south coasts of Korea. Using these data, the textural classification and distribution of sediments were carried out. Spatially, tidal flats can be divided into five sectors, from north to south (Zone A, B and C) in the west coast, and from west to east (Zone D and E) in the south coast.data, the textural classification and distribution of sediments were carried out.
