KOMPSAT Beta Test: Ocean Applications Using KOMPSAT Satellite Data

Abstract

For monitoring of coastal erosion in the East Sea, one KOMPSAT-3A data obtained on November 26, 2015 is used. This data is applied at the auto-extraction algorithm of coastline which was developed using three KOMPSAT-2 data previously. Another KOMPSAT-3A data is also used for detecting the sea ice on the Arctic Sea with KOMPSAT-2, 3 and 5 imageries. In further study, the thermal data of the KOMPSAT-3A data will be compared to the Sea Surface Temperature (SST) data obtained from multi-satellite sensors.her KOMPSAT-3A data is also used for detecting the sea ice on the Arctic Sea with KOMPSAT-2, 3 and 5 imageries.
