dc.description.abstract Marine-derived microorganisms are an interesting source for valuable secondary metabolites. Moreover, many natural products from marine microbes were developed as medicines and are being studied to cure incurable diseases and diverse infections. Especially, species of Streptomyces have been received significant attention since they produce unexpected and unusual chemical compounds with notable biological activities. The strain 151KO-065 was isolated from a mangrove tree stump collected in Kosrae island, Micronesia and identified as Streptomyces sp. From this strain, two novel compounds, tetracenomycin C and 8-demethoxytetracenomycin C, were isolated from the EtOAc extract of the culture broth (60L). Their structures were determined by MS and 2D NMR data analyses.tions.
