Abstract
- There have been studies using the pop-up satellite archival tag (PSAT) for accurate analysis of fish migration in recent years. As PSAT is large in size, most studies were conducted on large fish, but it has been recently applied to studies on relatively small sized fish because of its miniaturization. However, the size of the miniaturized tag is still not small (40– 60 g), and the tag should be attached on the exterior part to use the satellite. Therefore, the tag attachment position and fish health after the tag attachment must be considered. Thus, the present study investigated the physiological responses of olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) (body length: 49.1±0.4 cm, body weight: 1377.1±52.8 g) to the tag attachment position to determine whether PSAT can be applied to small-sized species. on relatively small sized fish because of its miniaturization.
