Abstract
The 15th PAMS meeting was held on April 23-25, 2009 in Busan, Korea, where most of the articles in this Special Issue were presented. Analyses of long-term data would elucidate climate variability over the PAMS and their possible linkages, since all parts of the globe communicate and contribute to the global climate system through large- scale atmospheric and oceanic circulation systems. These topics, together with the issues of high-frequency phenomena and extreme events, were discussed during the 15th PAMS meeting. The present volume consists of a total of 10 papers, with three papers on flows and current systems, four papers on variability in sea level, chlorophyll and climate indexes, two papers on air-sea interaction, and one paper on ENSO prediction.es, since all parts of the globe communicate and contribute to the global climate system through large- scale atmospheric and oceanic circulation systems.
