Abstract
- This paper proposes a channel-aided random access (CARA) technique in a frequency-division duplex (FDD) cellular systems, which can be used for supporting secure edge computing service in smart factory scenario. Key feature of our proposed technique is to allow a group of industrial internet-of-things (IIoT) devices satisfying a pre-defined channel quality condition to proceed the random access (RA) procedure. This can ensure relatively high data rate, which can be effective to improve the secrecy level during the RA procedure against an arbitrary potential eavesdropper. We analyze the performance of our proposed technique in terms of RA failure probability and achievable rate, and verify its validity through extensive simulations. Our proposed technique can contribute to improve the secrecy level during the RA procedure by directly improving the achievable rate even though the RA failure probability may increase due to the channel quality condition check procedure. © 2024 IEEE.
