Ulleungdo·Dokdo Ocean Science Station
울릉도·독도해양연구기지The Ulleungdo·Dokdo Ocean Science Station is a research station established in the town of Hyunpo in Ulleung-gun, Ulleungdo, Gyeongsangbuk-do as part of comprehensive measures to protect and preserve Dokdo. KIOST is commissioned to manage this research station, and it has been in operation since January of 2014. The research station serves as a pioneer in the field of the marine science of Ulleungdo·Dokdo and promotes the maritime territorial sovereignty of Ulleungdo and Dokdo through science and technology to better understand and protect the environments of the Dokdo marine system.
경상북도와 울릉군이 '독도 지키기 종합대책'의 일환으로 울릉군에 세운 연구기관으로, 2014년 1월부터 한국해양과학기술원이 위탁 운영 중에 있다. 동해·독도 해양연구 현장지원, 울릉도·독도 해양생태계 변동 감시 및 해양생태계 보전, 울릉도·독도 해양수산자원 증·양식 및 고부가가치 산업 육성, 해양영토교육 프로그램 등을 운영하고 있다.
