Abstract

A Spectral Airglow Temperature Imager (SATI) was installed at Resolute Bay, Canada, 74.7N, 94.9W, in October, 2001. SATI makes measurements of temperatures from the O2(Atm) (0,1) and OH (6,2) bands. This has complemented the measurements of winds made by the previously-installed ERWIN instrument, which measures winds from the O(1S), O2(Atm) (0,1) and OH (6,2) airglow emissions. Additional wind measurements from the WIND Imaging Interferometer (WINDII) are also available. In this paper an overview of the seasonal variation (October – March) of temperatures, winds and emission rates covering the altitude range 87 to 97 km are presented
