dc.description.abstract The bottom boundary layer plays an important role on the dynamics of the ocean. The boundary layer turbulence removes kinetic energy from the mean flow and is responsible for advecting quantities such as sediments, oxygen, salt and heat. In order to investigate the behavior of the boundary layer turbulence, Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute conducted hydrographic survey and measured turbulence structure in the northern East China Sea in August 2005. The current was estimated by the bottom moored ADCP near the Ieodo Ocean Research Station. The microstructure measurements were obtained with the microstructure profiler, TurboMAP. -
