Abstract
- In the course of our search for the bioactive secondary metabolites from marine organisms, we collected the red algae Odonthalia corymbifera from the coast of the East Sea, Korea. Studies on the chemical investigation of the Odonthalia corymbifera led to the isolation of several new bromophenols together with previously reported compounds. And the derivatives have been obtained by the catalytic hydrodehalogenation using Pd/Al2O3 catalyst. The structures of the novel compounds have been elucidated by combined spectroscopic methods including 2D NMR. The biological activity will be described.
