Abstract
A marine bacterium, YH207T, was isolated from tidal flat of Yeongjong-do at the Yellow Sea, Korea. The strain was Gram-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped, non-motile and pink-coloured. The 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis revealed that strains could be affiliated into the family Cryomorphaceae and showed high similarity with the genus Brumimicrobium (95.4 %) but produce a distinct phyletic line. Growth was observed at 11-36 ℃ , at pH 6.5-10.0 and with 0.5-9 % salt. The predominant cellular fatty acids were i15:1G(21.74 %), i15:0 (46.67 %), 3-OH i17:0 (8.64 %) and summed feature (2-OH i15:0 and/or 16:1ω7c ; 10.15%). The DNA G+C contents ranged 34.25%. The major respiratory quinone is MK-6. On the basis of these polyphasic taxonomic data, strain YH207T should be classified as a novel species in genus Brumimicrobium, and it is proposed as Brumimicrobium mesophilum sp. nov. The type strain is YH207T(=KCCM 42331T =JCM 14063T).
