dc.description.abstract In Korea one of the potential sites for underwater co2 sequestration is the “DolGoRae (Dolphin)” gas field located over the southwestern part of the East/Japan Sea. In this area at the surface the Tsushima Warm Current bifurcates, and near the bottom a southward cold current is found. While considering this flow pattern we assess the dispersion pattern of co2 in case it leaks from the storage. During the assessment, we utilized historical data as well as outputs from a high resolution ocean circulation model in which hydrographic data and sea surface height data are assimilated. Change in ph due to the dispersion of the leaked co2 will be discussed. -
