dc.description.abstract A new draconematid nematode species of the genus Dinetia Decraemer and Gourbault, 1997 is described from the sediments on hydrothermal vents from the Manus Basin, Southwest Pacific Ocean. Dinetia pacifica n. sp. is distinguished from D. nycterobia, D. orientalis Rho and Kim, 2005 and D. decraemerae Rho, Paik and Kim, 2006 by the following combination of characters: number of sublateral posterior adhesion tubes and subventral posterior adhesion tubes in both sexes, the buccal cavity, the body striation and large, strongly curved, spicules. This is the first record of the genus Dinetia in the Southwest Pacific Ocean -
