dc.description.abstract A draconematid nematode Paradraconema donghaense n. sp., first discovered in December 2006 at a subtidal zone of Dokdo, Korea, the northwest Pacific Ocean, is described. Paradraconema donghaense n. sp. was obtained from coarse detritus and shell gravels. This new species is most similar to P. maggenti Decarmer, 1989 in having similar habitus (long slender body) and amphideal fovea (elongate loop shaped in male and large circular spiral in female), the absence of preanal corniform setae in male, and similar a pair of small cephalic acanthiform setae at mid rostrum, but is distinguished by the following character combination: the number of posterior sublateral adhesion tubes (6-7 in male and 9 in female) and subventral adhesion tubes (16 in male and 17-18 in female), the absence of eye-spots and a differentiated lateral field in mid-body region of the both sides, and the presence of the remarkably differentiated cuticular ornamentations between the narrow region and mid-body region of the both sides. -
