Abstract
Due to the global warming and urbanization, worldwide climatic and environmental changes have been increasing recently. In particular, water temperature rising and acidification of ocean due to the climate changes cause the change of marine ecosystem and affect the cycle of marine material. Also rising of seawater temperature and sea level and changing of fishery species have been occurred apparently. To analyze changeable aspect of marine ecosystem induced by climate effects, it is necessary to monitor the area where it happens. Therefore, this research mainly focused on the site selection to monitor marine ecosystem induced by climate effects in the Southern Sea of Korea. In this research, time-series analysis of seawater temperature and pH, major factors of marine environment related with climate effects, has been achieved to support selecting monitoring site using GIS at inshore and offshore area of Southern Sea of KoreaAfter dividing Southern Sea into inshore and offshore area, database of seawater temperature and pH collected by NFRDI from 1993 to 2007 was constructed for inshore area. And database of seawater temperature collected by NFRDI bimonthly from 1980 to 2007 was constructed for offshore area. Using constructed database of two parameters, regression analysis was carried out to grasp temporal gradients. As a result, inclination of regression of equation, was calculated. In case of inshore area, after creating maps of rates of change of two parameters, score map was made classifying rates into five classes. Then, the candidate for monitoring site where integrated score of two parameters is high was selected. In case of offshore area, seawater temperature point map for each observation points was created. Candidates for monitoring sites where rate of seawater temperature change is high were selected based on raster map, showing seawater temperature change in offshore area, created by applying point map to spatial estimation technique.
