Abstract
- Bromopyrrole alkaloids are known to have a variety of biological activities such as antimicrobial activity, tyrosine kinase inhibitory activity and antifouling activity. During our research for the discovery of bioactive substances from marine sponges collected from Chuuk, Federated State of Micronesia, we have examined agelas sp. which are known to be an abundant source of various bromopyrrole alkaloids. We have isolated dibromophakelline, spongiacidin, septrin and one unidentified compound expected to havebromopyrrole in its structure. The structures of isolated compounds were elucidated by means of spectral methods including 2D NMR and MS.
