dc.description.abstract The highest tides in south Korea are found alongthe north west coast between latitudes 36 and 38North. The coastline in this region is very irreqularwith numerous bays and inlets of varying sizes. Thenumber of possible sites for tidal power barrages tocreate reservoirs is therefore great. In addition, anumber of islands off the coast offer the potential foruse as bases in the construction of major tidal powerbarrages enclosing very large reservoirs. -
