dc.description.abstract Microwave Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensors are more reliable active remote sensing instrument in order to extract environmental and geophysical information. Ocean wave parameters, such as wave height, wave length, period, energy can be derived from the SAR images. Main phenomenon occurred in between sea surface and electromagnetic waves interaction are known as Bragg scattering mechanism based-on the various sub-phenomenon such as velocity bunching , hydrodynamic, tilt and orbital velocity modulation existed during the interaction. We did the field experiment in the coast of Chuuk, Lagoon and we observed the movement of spherical waves from one place to other. The spherical waves can easily be observed in SAR image data obtained for that area with different SAR backscattering signal appearance. The process of extraction of wave spectrum, height and length can be derived with input parameters as such as metrological wind condition and image spectrum information with consideration of various effects like depth, conservation of wind and ocean energies and presently are in progress. -
