Abstract
Basing on the gravity and magnetic data, the wavelet method and texture imaging processing method are used to analysis the geophysical field features in Yellow Sea, extract faults, and calculate the magnetic basement, taking the new seismic tomography results and shallow seismic soundings as constraints. Three gravity and magnetic profiles are inversed by generalized method and seismic P-wave velocity imaging method. According to the porcessing results we propose that there is a beaded geophysical linear belt in South Yellow Sea and we call it South Yellow Sea west marginal fault zone. This fault zone has large extension length and the pre-Cenozoic strata in its two sides are very different. The extended length is longer. In the Profile CC fitted by gravity anomaly, there is a local high gravity anomaly whose value is 15mGal. We can find the massages in the processing results of vertical gravity gradient, horizontal derivation and texture feature. Therefore, we infer that it is a NNW-direction fault whose trend is eastward, its depth is about 26km and it is strike slip fault locally. It may be the reason that the pre-Cenozoic petroleum prospect is different between the land and southern South Yellow Sea Basin. Magnetic basement distribution of Yellow Sea shows the shallow in the middle and deep around the magnetic basement and boundary fault of local structure characteristic, which
