Abstract
- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) was carried out to generate gene expression profile in a soft coral species, Scleronephthya gracillimum. Total of 438 MB was read and 143,729 singletons were obtained. Among them 54,622 hits generated by BLASTn, 73,937 hits generated by BLASTx, and finally 58,679 hits generated by BLASTx algorithm of the NCBI server, which were assembled into 38,474 contigs. These assemblies were further categorized into groups according to biological functions based on Eukaryotic Orthologous Group (KOG) classification. These clones will be used for various analyses of biological responses at transcript level in S. gracillimum to environmental changes including climate changes, ocean acidification, and anthropogenic pollution.
