Abstract
The Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) data is received by GOCI Data Acquisition System (GDAS) in Korea Ocean Satellite Center (KOSC) that is the primary operational organization for GOCI. GDAS is consisted of 9m L-Band Gregorian Antenna, LNA, Down Converter, Modem/BB, C&M Systems, Timing Units, Weather Station, and so on. Received analog signal is converted to usable format (digital signal) through RF subsystems (LNA, D/C, Modem/BB) and sent to Image Pre-processing System (IMPS)’s Decomposition Module (DM). Since the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) was launched at June 2010, the GOCI data receiving has been interrupted for several occasions. The reasons of those interruption are, for example, lightning, sun interference, unknown signal, LHGS retransmission during In-Orbit Test (IOT), RF cable damage, network error, IMPS error, human error, and so on. It causes the blank lines on the GOCI image. The KOSC have endeavored to increase the receiving success rate. Most of the interruptions are resolved, but some are not. For perfect GOCI data service, KOSC is cooperating with Satellite Operation Center (SOC) at KARI where the backup GOCI data are received and stored. And KOSC is archiving satellite data at the CADU receiving and analyzing system developed by SOC. In this presentation, we will explain the result of analysis of the receiving interference reasons during IOT and initial operation. Also we will introduce KOSC’s activities and plans how to improve the receiving success rate.
