dc.description.abstract This paper introduces test flight results of underwater glider between Hupo and Ulleung, 177Lkm, for 6days(153Hours) in March, 2011. Test flights purpose was to validate the flight performance of underwater gliders. Test Items were endurance of glider operation, communication, operational depth limit, maximum speed, auto heading, flight mode change, and pilot skills. Underwater glider launched from Hupo area, and reach the coast of Ulleung island crossing East Sea of Korea where 1kt eddy current was present during 6 days, touching down 200m depth with Sound Velocity & Temperature Profiling at every 5 seconds. During test flight, Underwater Glider ran various modes(spiral, waypoints, heading, drift, and hover) and given missions were completed. Test flight showed successful results and proved underwater glider functions could operate under 2kt current environments with 5kg payload without changing internal buoyancy. -
