Abstract
Tidal channels are conduits for water, sediment, nutrients, detritus, and aquatic organisms and thus link the near shore marine environment to highly productive tidal marshes. Tidal channel geometry affects hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and the distribution and production of flora and fauna. In other words, understanding tidal channel network is key to understanding geophysical and surface sediment facies. In this study, we sought quantitatively estimate the tidal channel network using fractal method. In addition, we separated the fractal dimension values of tidal channel network with surface sediment facies. And we compared fractal dimension with tidal channel density and relative distances.ransport, and the distribution and production of flora and fauna.
