Abstract
By profiling and analyzing the genes of interest, we can select the genes that could indicate for toxicity. Pyrethroid pesticides (bifenthrin, γ-cyhalothrin, permethrin) and organophosphorus pesticides (chlorpyrifos, diazinon, parathion) are an abundant pesticides that has harmful effects on the body’s metabolism. In this experiment, we used Daphnia magna as our model organism because of its high sensitivity to water toxicity. To determine the exposure concentration of chemicals for microarray experiment, the toxicity tests were performed and the LC50 value of chemicals in daphnia was calculated as 0.9 mg/L in permethrin, as 0.6 mg/L in bifenthrin, as 3 mg/L in γ-cyhalothrin, as 0.6 mg/L chlorpyrifos, as 0.9 mg/L diazinon, and 0.43 mg/L parathion) in 24 hr. For microarray analyses we exposed daphnia to chemicals at 1/50 of LC50 for 24 hr then performed D. magna 15K Array hybridization to investigate the gene expression changes induced by diverse pesticides in adult daphnia.n) are an abundant pesticides that has harmful effects on the body’s metabolism.
