dc.description.abstract In the present article, we introduce our system on the production design of high-resolution sea surface temperature (SST) using all available infrared sensors such as AVHRR/NOAA, MODIS, MTSAT and MI/COMS. SST data generated by the system are individual images with reliability levels, about 8-hour merged products and daily composite image with a 1-km resolution. For SST validation and its quality control, in-situ temperature data are gathered from ocean buoy and compared with SST in near real-time for the area around the Korean Peninsula. The 8-hour merged products are connected to a model for SST assimilation in the Northwestern Pacific. It is on the test to find out optimal conditions including SST merging method, and the system will be used for Korea operational oceanography.m are individual images with reliability levels, about 8-hour merged products and daily composite image with a 1-km resolution.
