Abstract
Various problems of environmental dredging in KOREA were investigated based on monitoring results in order to improve domestic environmental dredging project. An environmental dredging project of the urban costal area was begun on December 2009 to solve severe odor near both waterways and successfully finished on January, 2012. Dredged materials which were dredged by hydraulic pump facilities were suitably treated and then finally treated at near shore confined disposal facility. After the environmental dredging project, severe order was disappeared water and sediment qualities including bio-toxicity were also incredibly improved. However improved environmental conditions was gradually turn for the worse just 1 year on going the project as incoming of untreated sewage from old dwelling sites at both upper waterways. The control of incoming pollutants was one of the most important factors to improve marine environment.ber 2009 to solve severe odor near both waterways and successfully finished on January, 2012.
