Abstract
Two superfamilies, Pilumnoidea and Xanthoidea, are well represented by diverse species in macrofauna communities of reef habitats. Until now, 18 pilumnoids and 28 xanthoids have been reported in Korea fauna. Of these, two species of pilumnoids and seven species of xanthoids was reported in East Sea, and only Etisus anaglyptus H. Milne Edwards, 1834 belongings to the superfamily Xanthoidea was only reported from Uljin, Gyongsangbuk-do. The authors investigated the fauna of the Korean pilumnoids and xanthoids from Uljin. The results of this investigation was as followed: 1) Two species of the pilumnoids and ten species of the xanthoids were collected, 2) two species of the xanthoids are found out new to Korea fauna: Etisus laevimanus Randall, 1840 and Paraxanthias elegans (Stimpson, 1858), and 3) Leptodius affinis (De Haan, 1835) has been only reported Jejudo island but this species inhabits in inland.umnoids and seven species of xanthoids was reported in East Sea, and only Etisus anaglyptus H.
