Abstract
We analyze precise bathymetry, seafloor images and grain size analysis for understanding seafloor characteristics and classifying sediment type around Wangdol-cho in the East Sea(the Sea of Japan).For this study, we conducted a bathymetry survey using multibeam echosounder system around Wangdol-cho in Nov. 2011. Since the area near the light beacon of Wangdol-cho has very shallow water depth range, the research vessel(R/V Eardo) couldn’t conduct the bathymetry survey in this area. And we carried out the sediment sampling survey about this study area for analyzing more detailed sediment type and a comparative study of seafloor images around Wangdol-cho in Oct. 2012. survey using multibeam echosounder system around Wangdol-cho in Nov. 2011.
