Abstract
In order to conduct a diversity of oceanic scientific activities in the pacific coral reef island area that the ocean, coast and land coexist, a location based information management and application system should first be established in advance. This study is a case that configures fundamental spatial framework data by producing spatial data with satellite images, paper maps, site survey and investigation information for building data in the area having no information. A coasting was produced through the GCP calibration of high-resolution satellite images, paper maps were digitized to produce a detailed contour map and drainage system map etc. for Chuuk reef and the target island, and an entire road map was completed for Weno island by carrying out a coordinate routing investigation using on-site vehicles. In addition, it made the research investigation activities etc. could be supported comprehensively by producing the major human-social environment information such as the building map, population map, map of a junk car location and map of breadfruit tree habitat through the site visiting investigation for Sapuk region around the research center.ance.
