dc.description.abstract This study is based on a series of threedimensional numerical modeling experiments tounderstand the tsunami run-up and inundationprocess at the circular shape Babi island in theIndonesia caused by 1992 Flores earthquaketsunami. Numerical simulations with realtopography have been made, as a sequel to theprevious idealized conical Island simulation byChoi et al. (2007), to investigate thephenomenon of extreme run-up at the BabiIsland when 1992 Flores tsunami occurred.Simulations have been carried out to investigatehow much the presence of the coast of Floresaffects the generation of the extreme run-up atthe Babi Island through the reflection processof tsunami waves, comparing results in thepresence/absence of the coast of Flores. -
