Abstract
- In general, FMCW radar can play an important role in maritime surveillance, because it has many advantages such as low warm-up time, low power consumption, and its all-weather performance. The FMCW radar and AIS installed on the Ieodo Ocean Research Station (IORS) to observe the ships around IORS. The position of ships can be acquired by FMCW radar image processing, and AIS provides ships information including position, ID number (MMSI and IMO), type, nation, speed, direction, and so on. The data were acquired from 21th November to 1st December 2013. All data were analyzed statistically for assessment of marine traffic environments, and development of database for service of ship information.
