Abstract
Preliminary validation studies for previous GOCI Data Processing System (GDPS) versions were carried out in 2012 with a limited number of match-up in-situ measurements [2] and other polar-orbiting ocean color satellite scenes from MERIS and MODIS [3], which suggested the potential capability of GOCI data. This study provides updated validation results of GOCI radiometric products generated from GDPS 1.3 using (1) extensive additional in-situ measurements from ship-based and stationary towers and (2) concurrent MODIS time series data. The validation results before the ISRD correction showed that GOCI-GDPS 1.3 has the best match with the in-situ measurements in general, suggesting correlation of 0.62, 0.77, 0.87, 0.90, and 0.91, for 412 nm, 443 nm, 490 nm, 555 nm, and 660 nm bands, respectively.
