dc.description.abstract Observation of shoreline change is a difficult and expensive task where various man power, time, and even costly equipments are required in acquisition of data. X-band radar is imaging radar that captures spatial distribution of waves and shoreline at an instance. Using x-band radar thus becomes a very handy method in observation of waves and shoreline changes at the beach where vigorous change in wave conditions and shorelines are common. There had been several typhoons that attacked Korean Peninsula and in this study, three typhoons which had significant effect on Haeundae beach are selected: Neoguri, Halong, and Vongfong. Shoreline changes at Haeundae beach before and after typhoon event are observed with X-band radar and the result are analyzed. The result from x-band radar image is expected to be useful in prediction of shoreline change using numerical models and in investigation of influential factors for coastal erosion.shoreline at an instance.
