맹골수도에서의 수색구조를 위한 고해상도 해상상태 예측

Abstract

We improved high resolution coastal circulation forecasting system of KOOS (Korea Operational Oceanographic System) to model tidal current accurately for calculation strong current at Maenggol channel. It is not easy to predict of the ‘time of turn of tide’ and the tidal current accurately due to strong tidal currents and complex pattern of tidal currents owing to many islands. Especially, different patterns of tidal currents are shown by complex topographies within the distance 2 ~ 3 km. We analyzed the observations of tidal current at the accident region for the accurate prediction of tidal current and finding the reason of the forecast errors of numerical modeling.
