dc.description.abstract Water temperature in fish culture is the one of important environmental factors that affect egg development in fish and growth of its larvae. Commonly, low water temperature make development pace slower, and high water temperature make development pace faster. In this study, egg development of Epinephelus akaara was possible to hatch when water temperature ranged 19~28°C, and it was possible to survive to mouth opening time (MOT) when water temperature ranged 22~28°C. MOT in each water temperature take 110hr in 22°C, 94hr in 25°C, 73hr in 28°C respectively. The higher water temperature attend the shorter to takes time and the shortest consumption time by MOT was in 28°C. The highest hatching rate with different water temperature showed 50.4% in 25°C, and the highest survival rate to MOT showed 31.1% in 25°C. In this result, optimal temperature of egg development in Epinephelus akaara was 25°C.lopment pace faster.
