Abstract
In coastal region, estuaries have dynamic conditions such as river discharge, tidal current, wave and sand ridge. These conditions generate suspended sediments processes in the estuary. Suspended sediment (SS) process can be used to explain reason for geological changes in the coastal area. To understand these processes, we use Geostationary Ocean Color Imager and Landsat imagery to monitor estuarine suspended sediments in this study. GOCI has high time resolution (1hour) and can provide daily Suspended sediment concentration (SSC) images. Landsat has high spatial resolution (30m) and can provide inner area SS image. We compared daily GOCI SSC images and spring season Landsat images with in situ SSC. In thisseason, net sediment fluxes were calculated. We can understand influence of river discharge to Gyeonggi bay through this study. In the future, we will research about limitation of river discharge using optical satellite imges.in reason for geological changes in the coastal area.
