Abstract
The Korea Ocean Satellite Center (KOSC) receives ocean color data obtained by the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) and it has a role to process them. Since 2010, KOSC has been stored 117 gigabytes of GOCI data a day thus it retains all of GOCI and the size of the retained data reaches up to about 254 terabytes. In the case of developing new ocean color algorithms, all of data should be reprocessed by these algorithms and stored also. In order to store efficiently these massive data, we have constructed self-assembly storage units. The operating system (OS) for the storage is CentOS 7 and we configured the raid 6 with 45 hard disks, to guarantee the robustness. We also employed a compression function of the Zetta File System (ZFS) to improve the storage efficiency. For future work, we will configure the distribute file system (DFS) to reduce the store time of self-assembly storage units.ll of GOCI and the size of the retained data reaches up to about 254 terabytes.
