Abstract
The development of dedicated ground segment for the second geostationary ocean color imager (GOCI-II) is being promoted in 2015. GOCI-II ground segment system (G2GS) plans to build in new campus of KIOST in Busan until satellite launched in march 2019.The GOCI-II Ground Segment (G2GS) is designed to meet user requirements such as speed, accuracy, efficiency. G2GS is composed of six functional subsystems. the data acquisition subsystem (DAS) has to meet the protocol and the regulation for satellite data transfer of Geo-Kompsat 2B to receive GOCI-II sensor data packet. The data correction subsystem (DCS) is being developed by KARI. The precision correction subsystem (PCS) is focused on signal refinement like Moon calibration, MTF correction, Ghost/straylight analysis, ISRD correction under developed by KOSC. The ocean data processing subsystem (ODPS) as the most important subsystem is focused to generate level 2 data in real time using parallel processing/distributed processing. This subsystem has the software module to manage and validate the product algorithm systematically. Also, the data management subsystem (DMS) and the operation & quality management subsystem (OQMS) will be developed as the infrastructure of G2GS. Current status of G2GS is under design phase. Preliminary design review was held in last December and Critical design review will be held in end of this year or early next year.
